Farmer’s Best food safety programs are based on HACCP principles. HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) is a United States Federal Government management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
HACCP principles include Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Process (GMP). These practices are designed by the FDA/USDA to produce safe fresh fruits and vegetables by eliminating potential sources of contamination.
